Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Force Energy”. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
It was developed in early 20th century Japan, and involves energy flowing through the hands of the healer into the patient. Reiki can be used on both humans and animals, it can also be done hands on, or at a distance.
Reiki complements other healing methods and spiritual practices. It is not tied into any religion, cult or belief system. It works independently of whatever your own beliefs or preferences are.
Reiki treatments can help clear the chakras of negative energy and blockages. It can restore the harmonious flow of energy. Crystals can play an important part in restoring this flow. In Reiki practice, placing a different stone on each of the chakra points will strengthen and heal the whole system.
